FROM THE EDITOR

Rodney Times - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS - - Rhonwyn

It’s the time of year when I find myself feeling very stretched. There just seems to be so much on, and no free time at all. With two young children, weekends are now spent at dance rehearsals, school galas and Pippin outings. Most of the time it’s fun - I’m the sort who likes keeping busy and can easily get cabin fever if I’m at home for too long. But sometimes I have to remind myself to take a breath and some time out. I think ‘‘no’’ is an important word to know how to say. Often I overcommit, but I’m getting better at saying no to some events and catch ups.

On Sunday afternoon, when the sun was shining, there were a million jobs on my list. But I decided to flag them, grab the pooch and head around Orewa estuary. It was a good call, I came home feeling refreshed and reenergised, ready to tackle my tasks. Remember to take time out for yourself this festive season, it’s important.
