Christ­mas tree soon to glow

Ro­torua’s Christ­mas Tree will be in place at the City Fo­cus on Thurs­day De­cem­ber 1 where a cer­e­mony will be held to co­in­cide with the open­ing of the Night Mar­ket’s sum­mer ex­ten­sion.

At 7pm the Western Heights High School Choir, led by Eve­lyn Fal­coner, and the Sal­va­tion Army Band will be per­form­ing and peo­ple are in­vited to bring along a can for the Sal­va­tion Army food­bank.

While the metal framed tree, which made its first ap­pear­ance last year, is set to re­turn, Ro­torua Lakes Coun­cil (RLC) have promised a much bet­ter dec­o­rated tree this year, with green tin­sel to

‘‘This year we have a won­der­ful mix of clas­sic dec­o­ra­tions. ’’
