Rotorua Review - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS -

We’re opening two news schools in Rotorua next year to meet population growth and offer parents more choice.

Our hard working teachers do a great job - record numbers of local students are succeeding in NCEA.

National is focused on a modern teaching environment and professional development for our teachers leading to better outcomes for students.

We’re supporting skills and language with a new $379m programme. Rotorua students will have the skills they need to do well in a modern workforce. The Ma¯ori Party wants mainstream classrooms to speak the language of our tu¯puna; to include Ma¯ori ways of knowing in the curriculum, and to hold our tu¯puna up as role models of academic excellence.

We agree with Ma¯ori parents who want their children to learn in schools that teach them that their ancestors were great philosophers, scientists, mathematicians, entrepreneurs and researchers.

The Ma¯ori Party wants all tamariki to stand tall in the knowledge that they have a rich and distinct heritage of scholarly endeavours.
