FRI­DAY 5 & SATUR­DAY 6 AU­GUST NIGHT­MARE AT THE MU­SEUM

Night­mare, the hor­ror walk, takes par­tic­i­pants through the dimly lit cor­ri­dors of the Mu­seum dur­ing the cold of win­ter’s night, to wit­ness first-hand the grue­some hap­pen­ings af­ter dark. Set with props, hid­den ac­tors, special light­ing, ter­rific trick­ery and a gen­eral air of the macabre, Night­mare is a youth fo­cused event de­signed to de­liver some­thing dif­fer­ent! Re­stricted to peo­ple ages 13 and older. Tick­ets $15 per per­son and avail­able from Ro­torua Mu­seum and on­line at Eventfinder.co.nz

SUN­DAY 7 & SUN­DAY 21 AU­GUST SOUNDSHELL MAR­KET

Come on down to the Ro­torua Lake­front to the Soundshell mar­ket. With lots of park­ing, and free en­try you can en­joy stalls from all over the coun­try of­fer­ing crafts, cu­rios, col­lecta­bles and an­tiques. 9.00am – 3.00pm at the Ro­torua Lake­front

This is a must do while in Ro­torua – an event for lo­cals and vis­i­tors alike, it’s fam­ily friendly with great food, mu­sic and bou­tique stalls. 5.00pm to 8.00pm in the “Heart of Tu­tanekai Street’, (be­tween Hau­papa and Hinemoa Streets)

SUN­DAY 14 AU­GUST ARTS VIL­LAGE MAR­KET

En­joy an ar­ray of 100% New Zealand made arts and crafts, in a fam­ily-friendly at­mos­phere with food, mu­sic and a free chil­dren’s ac­tiv­ity with the Arts Vil­lage Kids. 10am – 2.00pm, cor­ner of Hinemoa and Hine­maru Streets

SATUR­DAY 20TH AND 27TH AU­GUST TOUGH GUY AND GAL CHAL­LENGE

If you want to get down and dirty and have a whole lot of fun, then these unique off-road run­ning events are for you. Open to both male and fe­male com­peti­tors aged 13 and over, you can chal­lenge your­self on a course that in­cludes swamp cross­ings, a spi­ders web net climb, crawl un­der barb wire, beau­ti­ful native bush trails, tun­nels, hur­dles, a climb­ing frame and of course mud, mud, and more mud! 11am - 2.00pm. Lakes Ranch, 79 Lake Ro­tokawa Road, Tikitere Ro­torua.

WENESDAY 7 SEPTEM­BER THE NZSO EX­PE­RI­ENCE – SWING INTO SPRING

The New Zealand Sym­phony Orches­tra is joined by 19 jazz mu­si­cians from the Rodger Fox Big Band to play a con­cert of new ar­range­ments.
