It’s time to apply for cost grants
Rotorua organisations can get funding for operational costs, with Rotorua Trust opening its threeyearly Operating Cost grant cycle.
With $550,000 set aside for each of the next three years, Rotorua Trust chairman Stewart Edward wants Rotorua-based organisations to get applications in.
He says there is generally little funding for operating costs.
“Once every three years we open up to community groups who want to apply for support for ongoing expenses such as rent, rates, insurance or electricity. We know how costly it can be for organisations to deliver community outcomes, so it is great to be able to help them help others.”
Most operating grants are between $2000 and $5000 a year, for three years.
To be eligible organisations need to be based in Rotorua, registered with the Charities Commission, have been operating for at least two years and be able to demonstrate strong governance and making a positive difference.
“They need to provide a service to the Rotorua community, especially in our priority funding areas — health and the first 1000 days of a child’s life, education and employment opportunities, vibrancy, the environment and renewable energy, and strengthening our communities.”
Applications are available from the Trust’s office and on the website, www.rotoruatrust.org.nz, open until Friday November 9.
