FROM THE EDITOR
Huge success often brings with it a few problems and that seems to be the case around the mountain this weekend.
The big dumping of snow may have confined people to their own little part of the world in the latter part of last week, but by Saturday things were going pretty crazy.
Skiers flocked to the skifields to make the most of the fresh powder and, combined with snow and ice left behind by the storm, created a few issues on the roads.
Hopefully all of these issues can be resolved. The Park n Ride service does seem like a good solution to the traffic problems, on what can be quite tricky roads at this time of the year.
We want the visitors but we need to be able to handle the numbers too.
Also, a big congratulations to all the emergency services, contractors, council staff and the NZ Army for the big effort they put in to keep everyone ticking through the big storm.
Some issues like the stormwater in Raetihi will need to be looked at but most issues seemed to get resolved.
