Methven Preschool to host a fundraiser with a difference.

Methven Preschool is preparing to host a fundraiser with a difference, on a topic that everyone should know about.

It’s putting on an informative evening covering the subject of funerals and wills, on Thursday June 8, at Ski Time Conference Centre, Racecourse Ave, Methven at 7.30pm.

Guest speakers include Barry Hayman from Paterson’s Funerals and Matthew Marshall from White Fox and Jones, lawyers. Hayman and Marshall are experts in their respective fields of work and they will welcome questions from the floor.

Methven Preschool is a not for profit organisation – a registered charity – which means all funds raised go back into the preschool to cover general running costs, resources and the employment of qualified registered teachers.

Working with reduced government funding can be quite a juggling act to meet their vision and philosophy to provide top quality ECE childcare and education, therefore fundraising is an inevitable necessity in meeting the shortfalls.

The funds raised from the funerals and wills evening will be used in the construction of soundproofing of the current sleeping area, a well overdue project that will benefit the infants and younger children immensely.

Although the thought of a funeral and the organising of your estate may appear a morbid subject, it is important to be prepared, and the preschool hopes the community will support the event.

Tickets are $10 per person, including supper, and they are available from the preschool (03 302 8564).
