More Hell on Wheels for Ashburton?

Selwyn and Ashburton Outlook - - OUT & ABOUT - ERIN TASKER

All going to plan, Hell Pizza would have been opening their newest store in Ashburton right about now.

But, they’ve struggled to find a franchisee to take on an Ashburton store despite having found an ideal location, so they’ve gone back to the drawing board.

Hell Pizza general manager Ben Cumming said they were now hoping to bring their Hell on Wheels concept to Ashburton permanently instead.

A Hell on Wheels mobile pizza caravan had visited Ashburton a few times in recent weeks and it had proven popular, so now Hell were advertising for someone to take on a permanent Hell on Wheels franchise in the town.

He said they’d had multiple inquiries from people in relation to becoming store franchisees and some were ongoing, and an actual store would still be considered for Ashburton even if the Hell on Wheels concept was taken on by someone.

‘‘But the Hell on Wheels model is more suited we think,’’ Cumming said.

The first permanent Hell on Wheels was currently being built for Wanganui. It was due to open within a couple of months.
