Tell us about Youngblood Cosmetics. Youngblood grants women the power to conceal and correct imperfect complexions through its incredible natural, mineral-based and cruelty free beauty products.

How did the brand begin? Founder Pauline Youngblood was a medical aesthetician who would constantly see patients with severely traumatised skin. Not satisfied with the make-up options on the market, Pauline began working with chemists to develop a solution to cover raw, inflamed or discoloured skin, while allowing it to breathe and heal. Her first loose mineral foundation was such a success that patients continued using it long after their skin had healed. In 1996 Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics was born.

What is your flagship product? Our go-to product is the Loose Mineral Foundation, it suits everyone and comes in 17 colours.

Why have minerals become so popular and how do they work? Youngblood minerals are supportive to the skin, allowing the skin to breathe. The minerals are finely milled, making for weightless, adjustable coverage and an illuminating finish.

What’s the difference between mineral and liquid foundation? Youngblood’s Liquid Mineral Foundation offers extreme hydration and a dewy finish, while our mineral powder provides lightweight, buildable coverage.

Why do you love Youngblood? The thing that keeps me so passionate about Youngblood is that it caters to everyone. Being mature myself, I feel well looked after with colours and textures, however, I know it is also fun for the younger generation. beautysense.co.nz
