Our shoot at Auckland’s Pah Homestead, surrounded by contemporary art, was every creative’s dream. Located in Monte Cecilia Park, the majestic old building is home to the TSB Wallace Arts Centre, where you’ll find a changing programme of exhibitions featuring pieces from the James Wallace Arts Trust collection of more than 8500 works.

The house itself is a joy to explore. Designed by architects Edward and Thomas Mahoney in an Italianate style and built in 1877, it was the largest house in Auckland at that time. Now it provides a unique contrast to typical, ultra-modern gallery spaces.

Complete with a café offering classics from sweet and savoury crumpets to shared platters, it’s a destination in itself and, if you ask us, one that’s not to be missed.
