The sem­i­nars will in­clude dis­cus­sion, ac­tiv­i­ties and pre­sen­ta­tions, as well as group in­ter­ac­tions.

How­ever, there was no pres­sure for peo­ple to share.

‘‘They don’t have to talk if they don’t want to .. that can be re­ally hard for peo­ple.’’

The sem­i­nars would be run in groups of 10 to 15 peo­ple, and at this stage the sem­i­nars were tar­geted at adults.

She said if there was a need for groups for teenagers and young peo­ple then she would look into sem­i­nars for them as well.

The sem­i­nars could also act as a step­ping stone for peo­ple who might re­alise one to one coun­selling was some­thing they might find use­ful, she said.

‘‘It is also be for peo­ple who may not be ex­pe­ri­enc­ing de­pres­sion them­selves but they have a fam­ily mem­ber who has de­pres­sion and they may be in­ter­ested in learn­ing what is help­ful.’’
