The seminars would be run in groups of 10 to 15 people, and at this stage the seminars were targeted at adults.
She said if there was a need for groups for teenagers and young people then she would look into seminars for them as well.
The seminars could also act as a stepping stone for people who might realise one to one counselling was something they might find useful, she said.
‘‘It is also be for people who may not be experiencing depression themselves but they have a family member who has depression and they may be interested in learning what is helpful.’’
