Fair back at school

South Canterbury Herald - - TEMUKA NEWS - KOREN ALLPRESS

Temuka Primary School is holding a Spring Fair this Saturday to help raise money for school resources.

Fair committee member and stall co-ordinator Tanya Milne said the money raised would likely be spent on reading resources and art supplies.

‘‘Just things that the school doesn’t receive much funding for,’’ Milne said.

It will be the first Spring Fair the school has held in recent years and Milne, and other committee members, hoped it would become a regular feature.

There will be 38 stalls featuring a wide range of items, she said.

‘‘Our main event is our truckpulling competition,’’ she said.

Those 18-years-and-older will be able to pull a truck weighing roughly seven tonnes, while those 17-years-and-younger will compete in an ATV pull, she said.

Male teams can have up to two men in them, while teams of women could have up to four members. A mixed team can have up to three members.

The team with the fastest time over a set distance would win a gift basket, she said. Teams can register at the school, or on the day.

The fair will take place at Temuka Primary School on Saturday, September 16 from 10am until 3pm.
