In this edition of the South Canterbury Herald, reporter Ben Aulakh continues our series on volunteering.
New Zealand is the fourth most giving country in the world, according to the World Giving Index 2017. The giving categories cover donations, volunteer time, and helping a stranger. Myanmar had the highest rates, followed by Indonesia and Kenya.
To all volunteers throughout our community, a sincere thank you.
This weekend will be the first of the action packed McKeown Petroleum Waimate 50 motorsport festival, with the hill climb and rally sprint.
During the following weekend drivers will show their mettle street racing around the roads of the Waimate township.
All age groups who love the smell of burning rubber and get goose-bumps at the sound of revving engines are set for a great two weekends of entertainment.
We hope you enjoy reading all the other local stories we have ranging from embroidery, to teaching performance skills.
