Colour Canter to return

South Canterbury Herald - - MOTORING - KOREN ALLPRESS

Following the success of its inaugural run last year, the Friends of St Joseph’s School Temuka will host a second Temuka Colour Canter this month.

Entrants will have the chance to walk or run around a track, which starts at the Temuka Domain, and be doused with colour during the fundraiser for the school.

Parent committee member Rose Rooney said many people were not aware of one of the walking tracks at the Domain, a space she described as ‘‘fantastic’’.

‘‘(It’s) A really beautiful track that doesn’t get utilised.’’

Rooney said last year the event had raised about $10,000 for the school. This year money raised would go towards an amenities block being built at the school.

Rooney said there were seven colour stations spread out along the nearly 5 kilo- metre track. ‘‘By the end you should be looking like a bit of a rainbow.’’

At the end of the Canter, a local band will perform and people were invited to bring a picnic and enjoy the evening.

The Colour Canter will take place at the Temuka Domain from 3pm on October, 28. Cost $10 children, $20 adult.

Registrations close on Friday, October 20 and can be made through temukacolourcanter.co.nz
