‘Here’s Johnny’ again

The Shining - released in 1980 and starring Jack Nicholson - follows a family to a haunted hotel, where they are left trapped during a winter storm and the father is driven insane.
‘‘If you haven’t seen it before, watching it on the big screen is the way to go,’’ he said.
Jeromson said the theatre often does special screenings, with The Neverending Story scheduled for May and A Nightmare on Elm Street set to mark July’s own Friday the 13th.
Alien and Back to the Future are two films the theatre has aired recently.
‘‘It’s good to show some classic content every now and again,’’ Jeromson said.
The theatre also hosts events and groups that focus on unique films, such as the Alliance Franc¸aise French Film Festival and the Timaru Film Society.
‘‘I think it’s important to offer a diverse range of content,’’ he said.
Tickets for the special screening are $10 and can be purchased on Movie Max Digital’s website or at the theatre, either on the day or ahead of time.
The movie starts at 8pm.
