Showgrounds busier in September
Well the mud is receding and things are looking very lush and green at the Showgrounds. August was a little quieter with the equestrian fraternity staying indoors by the fire.
What were busy were the stables with NZ Farmers Livestock and Farmsource holding weekly calf sales. Hawera Harriers have been in full swing, their season culminates with the Nexuns Fun Run on October 15, but before that they will be assisting with the annual round of school cross countries.
The TSB Centre has bookings from Taranaki Area pony clubs, Taranaki Equestrian Jumping, Horseplay and Taranaki Western Riding Club all running training days and Dressage Taranaki will hold its first competition of the new season on the 30th in the oval.
The last remaining power poles on the showgrounds will be removed and the power supply to the trade area, office and expo hall will all be replaced with underground cable prior to the show.
Planning for the Hawera Auto Court Egmont Show is now well advanced, this will be the organisations 134th show. Trade space is filling up, sponsors signed, entertainment is booked and all competition schedules will be on the website shortly. For further information keep an eye on our Facebook page, Egmont A&P Show or go to the website, www.egmontshowgrounds.org.nz.
