South Taranaki Star - - STARS PAST -

Decorate your home for Food Bank.

number of different community groups. Food bank co-ordinator Hazel Robinson said the food bank was very much in demand over the Christmas season. The numbers of people accessing it increases dramatically as people may be laid off their jobs at the end of the year and they find it very difficult trying to make ends meet.

“There are some very sad cases out there through no fault of their own, Robinson said. ‘‘Being able to help give families and the elderly that little extra to bring some Christmas joy can make all the difference.”

The food bank is totally dependent on donations from the community and struggles to meet the need if it has insufficient funds.
