South Taranaki Star - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS -

Once again we have a wealth of stories about the many good people in South Taranaki, including the achievers.

Of particular note are the two youngsters who have excelled in vastly different fields but are showing the way to others than hard work and dedication will get you everywhere you want to be.

On page four we have Jacob Caskey, the young apprentice who puts his all into his work and has won nationwide recognition for his efforts. The Taranaki Star congratulates Jacob and his employer who nominated him.

On page 39 we have Reece Holmes, who at just 10 years of age has won a national squash title. He is the New Zealand Under 11 Boys squash champion, a title he aimed for, worked for and achieved. Well done, Reece. Yours is an attitude that will see you succeed in whatever you set out to achieve.

As a Facebook commentator said: Hawera is pretty good at producing quiet achievers.

I hope all our readers have had a chance to enjoy our magnificent gardens and art events.
