South Taranaki Star - - YOUR LOCAL NEWS -

The first week of the school holidays are almost finished and by now the little ones, in particular, will need to be entertained. The South Taranaki libraries put on brilliant holiday programmes and there is bound to be one that your son, daughter or grandchild would enjoy. See the website at for a full list of activities.

This week we are running two sports pages, a rugby story and a sports column, both written by experienced award-winning sports journalist Gordon Brown. I know how disappointed readers have been with the lack of sports coverage in the print media and I am trying to do something about it. I am still unable to run a page of results because of the templates we must use. Regular readers will notice that the target shooting club gets a photo in every week and during the season the cycling club did also. That is the best way to get coverage of your sport, send me a photo that is no smaller than 1meg and remember to identify who is in it.

News has changed forever and we must go with the flow.
