Bottle droppers

South Waikato News - - OPINION -

Why, why, why is it that people can’t take their rubbish home?

I drive from Putaruru to Arapuni just about every day and quite often see rubbish by the road side and have often stopped and picked it up when it is in bags or boxes. Up until last week my record for bottles was three dozen beer bottles in their boxes.

Well I now have a new record I saw some laying in the grass the other day and stopped to collect them.

As I counted them into my little red van I was surprised to find I had a total of 141 and not one broken one.

I took them home and put them out for the recycle collector.

Why couldn’t the dumper have done that?

It is just beyond me to understand how people can do this to our countryside. Tony Stephens
