Solo or en masse – drum beat tops

Mata­mata Col­lege could not be beaten at the Drum­line com­pe­ti­tion at Pu­taruru Plaza this year.

The school took the group and solo awards in the three-way com­pe­ti­tion also fea­tur­ing drum­mers from For­est View High School and Pu­taruru Col­lege.

Each school played two pieces as a group in the first por­tion of the com­pe­ti­tion.

Fo­cus then switched to solo ef­forts with the best drum­mers from each school tak­ing part.

The show ended with stu­dents from all three schools per­form­ing sev­eral pieces to­gether.
