Have a go with the Involve plan
Involve 2010 runs through the first half of October, including the second half of the school holidays.
Involve is an opportunity for community groups to show what they do. Its goals are to connect people and bring residents together to try new activities with the help of community groups, clubs and organisations.
It provides an opportunity for groups to get others involved with what they do and for South Waikato residents to try something new.
So what are some of the events on offer for youth?
Fluoro rave night: This fundraiser for the Putaruru Youth Centre is at The Plaza on October 2. 11 years and under are welcome from 4-6.30pm. 12 years and over from 7-10.30pm. The theme is white shirts and fluoro colours.
Youth Row: Pit your strength against the Row Box – a speciallymade rowing machine. The free event at NOW Youth Park on October 9 from 10am until 2pm will also feature a sausage sizzle and kapa haka performances.
Archery – Have a Shot: Toa Ora Archery Club is hosting an open day on October 3 from 10am until noon. The event will provide a chance for those new to the sport to have a go. It’s at the cricket club rooms at Tokoroa memorial sportsgrounds.
10 x 10 Art Exhibition: Art on Main in Tirau is holding an art exhibition from October 2-10.
Art House in Action: The art house on Arapuni St will be open during the school holidays and people are invited to visit and join in fun hands-on art enrichment activities along with the children. Participants need to be six years and older.
Girl Guides: South Waikato Girl Guides are opening the doors during Involve. Several times during October parents and daughters will have an opportunity to come to the guides hall on Clyde St, Tokoroa, to see what the girls do.
