Pet pride pro­moted

IT was a fam­ily af­fair last week at Charles Kinder­garten in Pu­taruru when its chil­dren cel­e­brated Pet Day.

Head teacher Ni­cole Ryan says up to 20 chil­dren were part of Pet Day which en­cour­aged the wel­fare and care of an­i­mals.

Staff and chil­dren will also do their an­nual SPCA walk around the Pu­taruru com­mu­nity col­lect­ing do­na­tions for the SPCA to­day from 10-11am.

CUTE: Akonga Ho­haia -Bar­ron, Paraone He­m­ana-Brown, Kara Brown and Tinker Bell the calf.

FLUFFY: GG the cat was the cen­tre of at­ten­tion as Eleya He­m­anaBrown, Paraone He­m­ana-Brown, Tiana Keno, Ri­ley Pet­ley, Karen Goodacre (teacher) crowded around.

ALL IN THE FAM­ILY: Eleya, Con­wayne and Paraone He­m­ana-Brown and GG the cat en­joyed qual­ity time last week.
