Con­tact po­lice if you recog­nise this man

Toko­roa CIB are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the rob­bery of the Lomond Dairy in Toko­roa on Sun­day.

Po­lice said at 12.50pm an of­fender en­tered the shop and de­manded money from the shop­keeper.

The shop­keeper had not ini­tially un­der­stood the de­mands and the of­fender then grabbed the cash reg­is­ter off the counter caus­ing it to drop on the floor and break open.

He then grabbed the money and fled on foot from the dairy into Crathie Cres­cent, Toko­roa.

The of­fender is de­scribed as a male Maori or Pa­cific Is­lan­der about 18 to 20 years old.

He was wear­ing a striped, hooded sweat­shirt and shorts.

‘‘ This rob­ber has been brazen in his crime and when he hasn’t got his own way he re­sorted to us­ing force on prop­erty,’’ De­tec­tive Sergeant Kevan Verry said.

‘‘ This be­hav­iour is con­cern­ing to the po­lice and this man must be lo­cated be­fore he of­fends again.

‘‘ I am cer­tain that some­one in Toko­roa will recog­nise the of­fender in the photo and I urge them to con­tact us.

‘‘ The com­mu­nity’s help is go­ing to be cru­cial in solv­ing this crime and all in­for- ma­tion will be treated with con­fi­dence.’’
