Professionals explain latest initiatives
At the monthly Tokoroa Council of Social Services open forum professionals had the opportunity to explain any initiatives they are involved in.

Inland Revenue Department community relationships representative Edward Nathan has been carrying out workshops with colleagues around the changes in GST which came into effect last week.
Community Waikato’s Jenny Patching spoke about a training day by the Fundraising Institute of New Zealand to be held in Rotorua and will cover different methods of fundraising.
Community Health and Grey Power’s Graewyn O’Sullivan passed on a message from Age Concern’s Lyndsay Benefield about the Shopping Scheme which is an initiative to assist elderly who are unable to get out and do their shopping. Age Concern in Hamilton runs a scheme where it funds someone to take a client shopping; the helper is reimbursed $ 15.50 for their time and effort.
