Trial ses­sions hit bulls­eye

More than 60 peo­ple turned up for the have-a-go-at-archery ses­sion with the Toa Ara Archers on Sun­day.

The sun brought ev­ery­one out and the club catered for the crowds ad­mirably.

The Archery Club meets on the first Sun­day of ev­ery month at the South Waikato Cricket Club at the Toko­roa Me­mo­rial Sports­ground from 10am.

Indoor Archery is also avail­able each Thurs­day evening from 5.30pm for stu­dents and 6.30pm for adults.

The indoor venue is the Toa Ara Clu­b­rooms up­stairs on Bridge Street, Toko­roa.

If you missed Sun­day’s out­door event, you can have a taste of archery at the indoor open night on Thurs­day Oc­to­ber 14. Triathlon This Satur­day sees the an­nual Push Play Peo­ple’s Triathlon on again start­ing at the Toko­roa Me­mo­rial Sports­ground. Reg­is­tra­tions will be taken from 9am and the race starts at 10am.

There are two dis­tances to choose from. Triathlon A is a 2.5km run/walk and 5km bike ride fin­ish­ing with a 150m swim. Triathlon B starts with a 5km run/ walk fol­lowed by a 10km bike ride and fin­ishes with a 300m swim.

Cost to en­ter is just $5 and is open to any­one 12 years and older.

This is a great en­try-level triathlon and a good start to the sea­son. Reg­is­tra­tion forms are avail­able at the Indoor Pools in Toko­roa or reg­is­ter on the day. Lions Walk The an­nual Toko­roa District Lions Char­ity Walk will be held on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 17 from the Toko­roa Fire Sta­tion with reg­is­tra­tions be­ing taken from 9am and the walk start­ing at 9.30am.

There are two walk­ing dis­tances, 5 or 10km and the en­try fee is $10 per per­son. All money raised goes to Toko­roa’s vol­un­teer fire bri­gade.
