Trial sessions hit bullseye
More than 60 people turned up for the have-a-go-at-archery session with the Toa Ara Archers on Sunday.
The sun brought everyone out and the club catered for the crowds admirably.
The Archery Club meets on the first Sunday of every month at the South Waikato Cricket Club at the Tokoroa Memorial Sportsground from 10am.
Indoor Archery is also available each Thursday evening from 5.30pm for students and 6.30pm for adults.
The indoor venue is the Toa Ara Clubrooms upstairs on Bridge Street, Tokoroa.
If you missed Sunday’s outdoor event, you can have a taste of archery at the indoor open night on Thursday October 14. Triathlon This Saturday sees the annual Push Play People’s Triathlon on again starting at the Tokoroa Memorial Sportsground. Registrations will be taken from 9am and the race starts at 10am.
There are two distances to choose from. Triathlon A is a 2.5km run/walk and 5km bike ride finishing with a 150m swim. Triathlon B starts with a 5km run/ walk followed by a 10km bike ride and finishes with a 300m swim.
Cost to enter is just $5 and is open to anyone 12 years and older.
This is a great entry-level triathlon and a good start to the season. Registration forms are available at the Indoor Pools in Tokoroa or register on the day. Lions Walk The annual Tokoroa District Lions Charity Walk will be held on Sunday, October 17 from the Tokoroa Fire Station with registrations being taken from 9am and the walk starting at 9.30am.
There are two walking distances, 5 or 10km and the entry fee is $10 per person. All money raised goes to Tokoroa’s volunteer fire brigade.
