Parts for all in massive show for Christmas
The Greatest Show On Earth will roll into Putaruru and officials are calling for interested performers to sign up to help kick off the Christmas season. The show is on November 25, 26 and 27. Pride in Putaruru manager Annie Waterworth says the production is enormous and is a great opportunity for families to perform together. ‘‘It is such a huge production,’’ she says. ‘‘It is good because we can use entire families. Anyone can be in it from 8 to 80-years-old.
‘‘We are basically saying that people can be a part of it even if they want to be in the chorus line.’’
Chorus line rehearsals will be held on October 9 and auditions for actual parts are on October 8. The production consists of 22 songs. ‘‘I did it in high school and we didn’t realise how big it was. It is really neat. We will have performers dropping by ribbons from the ceiling and a full band,’’ Mrs Waterworth says. Rehearsal times are 7pm to 9pm. The Greatest Show on Earth follows the members of a travelling circus who put on their own version of the nativity story.
