Arthritis thanks

South Waikato News - - NEWS/OPINION -

Arthritis is a serious health issue, affecting one in every 1000 children and one in six people over the age of 15 in New Zealand.

That’s over half a million Kiwis nationwide.

Arthritis New Zealand’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of people affected by arthritis.

It costs us over $5 million dollars annually to maintain our services and as part of our fundraising we hold an Annual Appeal for a week every September.

This year, we were very fortunate to have the support of two local youth groups, Y-Rangatahi in Putaruru and the ATC students in Tokoroa.

These groups organised and carried out the collection of donations on the streets of Putaruru and Tokoroa with enthusiasm and commitment.

They successfully raised both the profile of Arthritis New Zealand and over $1000 towards our fundraising total.

This was a fantastic effort and I would like to express my sincere thanks to Pani, Wyllie and their teams for their outstanding community service.

Thank you also to the people and businesses of Tokoroa, Putaruru and Tirau who showed their generosity and community spirit.
