Think pink for char­ity lake walk

Pink Walk

Head to Lake Moananui on Fri­day for the Pink Walk.

Sport Waikato, SWPIHC, Raukawa and the South Waikato YMCA have banded to­gether to or­gan­ise this year’s Pink Walk on Fri­day, Oc­to­ber 15.

Reg­is­tra­tions will be taken from 4.30pm with the walk start­ing at 5pm around the Lake.

Cost for all walk­ers over 16 years is $ 5 with all funds raised go­ing to the Waikato Breast Can­cer Trust. The dress code is pink.

Cathy Wil­liams has also do­nated a beau­ti­fully dec­o­rated fruit cake which is be­ing raf­fled off for the cause.

Tick­ets are on sale now at the indoor pools in Toko­roa and the Sport Waikato of­fice for just $1 per ticket.

Tick­ets will also be on sale at the Pink Walk and then drawn at the end of the walk.

It’s all for a very good cause. See you all there. Boxing train­ing Ever wanted to try boxing train­ing? It is a great way to keep fit, healthy and stay slim and trim.

Toko­roa Boxing Club, as part of the In­volve fes­ti­val, will open its doors tonight, Wed­nes­day Oc­to­ber 13 from 4.30pm to 5.30pm for stu­dents and from 5.30pm to 6.30pm for adults, all for free.

The hour-long work­out in­cludes skip­ping, core work, sit ups and pads and bags.

Ev­ery­one is very friendly and wel­com­ing and the ac­tiv­i­ties are very ad­dic­tive.

Thanks to the club for agree­ing to be a part of the fes­ti­val and show­cas­ing its ac­tiv­ity. Ara­puni River trail An­other sec­tion of the Waikato River Trail is near­ing com­ple­tion and will be open for an early view­ing on Fri­day. Pack your walk­ing shoes and meet in Ara­puni Vil­lage at 11am for the 4km guided walk. Sports awards Nom­i­na­tions for the South Waikato District Sports Awards in as­so­ci­a­tion with Mighty River Power close Oc­to­ber 18.

There is still a lit­tle time to get your club’s nom­i­na­tions in and have your club rep­re­sented at the awards cel­e­bra­tion on Novem­ber 13.
