Around 30 years of memories will be on display for two weeks when Tokoroa painter Vanya Crocker displays 35 paintings from the last three decades of her life.

The collection is on display at The Craft Barn and the collection features a broad range of subjects.

‘‘One is an abstract. I started with a picture of the Botanical Gar- dens in Wellington and I simplified it. It has blues, greens, I was just experimenting,’’ Mrs Crocker said.

‘‘ With another picture I created after discovering a specific shape.’’

Some paintings were also created when she was living in England.

‘‘I just sat in the garden painting, people would come and pass, they just left me alone.’’

Mrs Crocker was born in Wellington and studied at the Canterbury School of Art.

After 30 years, she said it was about time her work went on display.

‘‘ Because they are taking up too much space at home. I was offered the windows and thought it would be a good opportunity.’’
