Dismissal laws generate campaign
Thousands of workers from Kaitaia to Bluff will stop work for two hours today to attend union meetings protesting against the Government’s employment laws.
The changes proposed include extending the removal of rights to appeal unfair dismissal to all work places and allowing employers to request a sick note even on the first day of illness.
New Zealand unions have vowed to campaign against these changes until these rights are restored.
This Day of Action is part of that campaign and a rally in Tokoroa begins on Bridge St at 10am.
