MP’s enthusiasm for newly elected

South Waikato News - - OPINION/NEWS -

I would like to congratulate the successful council and community board candidates in the South Waikato District Council election.

We have a number of new councillors, people who will spend the next three years working towards growing the South Waikato. To those who were not elected I offer my commiserations and I hope you will continue to contribute to our community.

I would like to congratulate the successful mayoral candidate Neil Sinclair on gaining another term as South Waikato mayor.

As the local Member of Parliament I have a strong working relationship with Neil and I have a lot of respect for the work he does in the community.

I am looking forward to working with the new council and the mayor for the benefit of the South Waikato.

My colleagues around the country tell me that where an MP and a council work well together the whole community benefits. Louise Upston

MP for Taupo
