Design set for decision
The South Waikato indoor sports complex design decision is due next month.
Plans are with the South Waikato District Council from the four companies vying to design the facility.
A decision on which design will be picked for the $ 6million centre will be made by a nine-person committee set for a December 1 meeting which council chief executive David Hall said would be closed to the public to protect commercial sensitivities.
The committee is: Mr Hall, mayor Neil Sinclair, deputy mayor Jenny Shattock, council parks and property manager Greg Shaw, Helen Dahm and Bruce Nairn from the South Waikato Sports and Leisure Board, Sheryle Kirner from planning consultants RDT Pacific, Michael King of SGL Group and Rotorua District Council events and venues general manager Peter McLeod.
The committee’s choice will go before a closed council meeting on December 9.
