School networks on the world wide web
Cargill Open Plan School has gone viral with its very own website marking another first for the school.
The website was launched recently and the brainchild of school officials took about nine months to develop.
Principal Rhonda Rayner says in the early stages of development she knew the site had to represent the school properly and she is proud of the finished product.
‘‘We wanted the website to represent who we are. We wanted it to show our kids and our projects.’’
Mrs Rayner says once the designs had been finalised they were taken to JV Systems Engineering who helped to develop the site.
The site uses the school’s purple and gold colour theme and the koru design.
The site includes links to Education Review Office reports, welcome photos, the school’s mission statement, programmes, a page dedicated to students’ and parents’ opinions and uploaded newsletters. It also gives a rundown of upcoming events. To view the website go to www.cargill.school.nz.
