School net­works on the world wide web

Cargill Open Plan School has gone vi­ral with its very own web­site mark­ing an­other first for the school.

The web­site was launched re­cently and the brain­child of school of­fi­cials took about nine months to de­velop.

Prin­ci­pal Rhonda Rayner says in the early stages of devel­op­ment she knew the site had to rep­re­sent the school prop­erly and she is proud of the fin­ished prod­uct.

‘‘We wanted the web­site to rep­re­sent who we are. We wanted it to show our kids and our projects.’’

Mrs Rayner says once the de­signs had been fi­nalised they were taken to JV Sys­tems En­gi­neer­ing who helped to de­velop the site.

The site uses the school’s pur­ple and gold colour theme and the koru de­sign.

The site in­cludes links to Ed­u­ca­tion Re­view Of­fice re­ports, wel­come pho­tos, the school’s mis­sion state­ment, pro­grammes, a page ded­i­cated to stu­dents’ and par­ents’ opin­ions and up­loaded news­let­ters. It also gives a run­down of up­com­ing events. To view the web­site go to
