Tire­less stand in steps aside

A fa­mil­iar face is re­turn­ing to the

Re­porter Florence Kerr re­turns this week af­ter an 11-month break fol­low­ing the birth of her sec­ond child.

Un­for­tu­nately this means Aden Miles (pic­tured) who has been a re­porter with

for seven months, is mov­ing on.

Edi­tor Mathew Grocott said both re­porters were tal­ented and if it had been pos­si­ble he would keep both of them.

‘‘Aden has been a great ad­di­tion to the team this year.

‘‘He worked tire­lessly and had a pas­sion for telling peo­ple’s sto­ries,’’ he said.

‘‘I want to say thank you to ev­ery­one I have come across dur­ing my time here,’’ Miles said. ‘‘The one thing I do ap­pre­ci­ate about Toko­roa is the friend­li­ness of the peo­ple.’’ The 23-year-old’s in­ten­tion was clear. ‘‘I know the rep­u­ta­tion that Toko­roa has, so my plan was to coun­ter­act that,’’ he said.

‘‘I wanted to broad­cast the achieve­ments of stu­dents around the en­tire district.’’
