Barker’s focus is on priorities

South Waikato News - - NEWS -

Norm Barker has been re-elected chairman of Environment Waikato’s Transport and Passenger Transport committees.

The regional councillor for the South WaikatoRotorua constituency held the positions during the previous council term.

The committees, which include most of the district mayors across the Waikato, deal with issues around transport infrastructure, road safety and commuter services.

Road safety is an important issue to Mr Barker who said during the election campaign that a priority for this term would be the reconstruction of the intersection of state highways five and one south of Tirau.
