Venue issues

South Waikato News - - OPINION -

Huge bouqets to all the children, tutors, helpers and schools that participated in this year’s Polynesian Festival.

The performances were outstanding and it was obvious the children had worked very hard to achieve the level that was showcased.

Unfortunately the venue was sorely inadequate. We were being told that once you left the hall you could not come back in.

I, for one, enjoy watching all the performances not just my own child’s and there were many who did miss seeing their child perform.

Having worked so hard, I’m sure the children would love for the wider community to see their performances too.

Thank you to the Maori Wardens who tried to police a difficult situation. I’m sure they wore the brunt of some frustrated and angry parents and family members.

Please organisers, give the venue more thought when planning next year’s event. C Hawkins
