Boy critically hurt in crash
A crash on an unsealed rural road west of Tokoroa on Monday has left a teenage motorcyclist in a critical condition in Waikato Hospital.
The 16-year-old Hamilton boy was in the intensive care unit yesterday following a collision with a ute.
The crash happened about 17km down Jack Henry Rd. Emergency services from Tokoroa were called to the accident about 1pm. A St John ambulance, two Tokoroa Volunteer Fire Brigade appliances and several police attended.
Firefighters and St John staff worked at the scene on the teenager before he was transferred to the Westpac Air Ambulance which flew him to hospital.
It is understood the motorcycle and the ute collided head on.
