Rider holds onto lead going into series final
Dion Picard is flying at the front of the pack in the national supercross series.
The Atiamuri rider is leading the Junior Lite 250cc class after three of the four rounds in the championship.
Picard finished with a first, second and a third in the three races at the latest round in the series in Motueka on Sunday.
The results placed Picard second overall for the Motueka round behind Micah McGoldrick, Picard’s biggest challenger for the overall title but they were enough for Picard to keep his overall lead, which was established after the second race meeting of the series in Taupo earlier this month.
At that event Picard was dominant, riding his Suzuki to wins in all three races.
At the series opening round in Tokoroa in December Picard finished third overall.
The final round of the national supercross series will be in Timaru on Saturday.
