2011 events, classes are under way
Regional Sports Awards
Good luck to Jim McMurray and Graeme Bell who will be representing the district at the Waikato Regional Sports Awards on Thursday, January 27. Both are members of the Forestland Wheelers club.
McMurray is a nominee in the 40+ Sportsperson of the Year category and Bell in the Referee/ Umpire category.
Tickets for the awards are $70 a person which includes a meal and drinks and will be held at the Wintec Atrium on the corner of Anglesea and Ward streets starting at 6pm.
Tickets are on sale from the Sport Waikato office in Hamilton phone 07 858 5388. Tokoroa Hash House Harriers Tokoroa Hash House Harriers will be meeting tonight at Spirit’d bar on Leith Place.
Next week on Wednesday, January 26, they will be meeting at the Tokoroa Cosmopolitan Club on Balmoral Drive. The group meets at 6pm for a fun walk/jog/run around a set course. Join the group for some fun, social activity. Pilates Pilates classes in Tokoroa for 2011 will be on Tuesdays starting February 8 for level 1, an introduction to pilates and on Wednesday, starting February 9, for level 2 participants or advanced pilates.
Classes are held at Tokoroa North School hall and run for seven weeks from 6pm to 7.30pm. Cost is just $60 per person and $ 50 for repeat participants.
Participants will need to bring an exercise mat, water bottle and small towel.
Pilates exercise combines mind and body to provide a safe and effective workout for the entire body. Focus is on core stability enabling maximum body control, flexibility and strengthening.
It is a low impact class suitable for most fitness levels.
