Get ready for polocrosse
Mount up for a great weekend of action
Tokoroa will host top-level polocrosse this weekend.
The Putaruru-Tirau Polocrosse Club is hosting the event with play on both days getting under way at 8am.
The tournament is taking place at the Tokoroa Memorial Sportsgrounds on Mossop Rd.
The event will be featuring members of New Zealand’s world cup squad with the final trials for the squad being played at 4.30pm on Saturday and noon on Sunday.
After prize giving on Sunday afternoon a team of four men and four women will be selected to represent New Zealand at the 2011 Polocrosse World Cup to be held in the United Kingdom in July.
Supporting these games will be a further 170 players ranging across all levels of playing ability.
Admission to the event is free.
