Fun new take on reggae
Famous for their fresh harmonies, fun and conscious reggae, this mother and daughters trio create the powerful sound that is NRG Rising.
The unique sound will come to Tokoroa Cosmopolitan Club on July 16.
NRG Rising’s unique, clear, female sound and harmonies fill a niche market, women in reggae in New Zealand and their upbeat, fun and friendly onstage persona leaves audiences feeling uplifted.
The group have been on the music scene for around two years and performed over 70 gigs around New Zealand.
NRG Rising was founded by Benita Tahuri, her two daughters, Anahera-Pono Tahuri-Whakatope and Honey Tahuri-Whakatope and partner Bevin Hira. The fifth core band member is Trinity Blake.
As their name NRG (New Reggae Generation) suggests, this is a new wave, of NRG Rising fresh, fun and reggae.
