Businessman motivates

South Waikato News - - NEWS -

John Sax, a man with vision and passion inspires South Waikato District Councillors and the wider business community to invest in their people.

Mr Sax, executive director Southpark Group of companies which includes the popular Treetops Lodge and Estate near Rotorua, spoke at the Mayor’s Business Breakfast.

He recited his favorite quote, an old Maori proverb, to a captivated audience ‘‘what is the most important thing in the world? It is people, people, people’’.

Mr Sax, who has worked tirelessly to build his empire, said his work with the disadvantaged youth was the most special to him.

He is determined to help New Zealand children who suffer horrendous abuse. He believes one thing could cure our national child abuse statistics.

‘‘Marriage; if we look at our child abuse statistics a majority of our abused children are born out of wedlock.

‘‘On average children raised out of wedlock are 1000 per cent worse off.’’

Mr Sax told the audience to invest in their people, in particular the children of the South Waikato.

‘‘Because if we love our children, we will take care of the world we leave them.’’

Mr Sax encouraged those who at the breakfast to maintain their passion for the district.
