The Tok-Town Smack Down box­ing event held on Satur­day night was a great suc­cess with close to $8000 raised for hospice.

The event which in­volved 24 Toko­roa iden­ti­ties fac­ing off in a box­ing ring to raise cash was or­gan­ised by the Toko­roa Host Lions Club.

Mark O’Leary, one of the many or­gan­is­ers, said the night was ‘‘awe­some’’. ‘‘We will def­i­nitely look at do­ing this next year.’’
