Fists fly for cause
The Tok-Town Smack Down boxing event held on Saturday night was a great success with close to $8000 raised for hospice.
The event which involved 24 Tokoroa identities facing off in a boxing ring to raise cash was organised by the Tokoroa Host Lions Club.
Mark O’Leary, one of the many organisers, said the night was ‘‘awesome’’. ‘‘We will definitely look at doing this next year.’’
HIT FROM BEHIND: Jules Rameka felt the blow delivered from Paniora Daniels who eventually won the fight.
READY, BLOW: Left, Raymond Lincoln didn’t let a blood nose stop his campaign against Leon Bartie when the fight ended with a draw.
DOUBLEWHAMMY: Above, Brett McMullan in blue and Greg Fitzpatrick in the red manage to punch each other at the same time. The fight ended in a draw.
