LETTER TO THE EDITOR

One more is too many

South Waikato News - - NEWS/OPINION -

We need a liquor store like a hole in the head, it’s about time the council listened to the people. What we need in this community are jobs not liquor. I personally know the outfit which has applied for the licence and it sells the cheapest liquor in New Zealand. Why can’t we follow Morrinsville’s lead and ban any more liquor stores in the community. We already have four liquor stores in Tokoroa not including supermarkets. We feel we do not need anymore. There is also a park across the road from the proposed new outlet, people will buy liquor and sit in the park and become intoxicated as there are places to sit away from the public eye. The park is used as a rest stop; not a good look for our travellers to see bottles or even worse, intoxicated people.

J Brown, Tokoroa
