South Waikato News - - SPORT -

The Salvation Army Tokoroa opened their new Family Store in Tirau on Saturday the 23rd of July. People from as far away as Wellington to the tip of the North Island dropped in. The Salvation Army Tauranga brass band joined joined in the festivities playing traditional Army tunes. We had a lot of people come through the store that day and the comments were very encouraging.

Rob and Loll Raven, the Corp’s leaders of Tokoroa said they saw the opportunity for a Family Store in Tirau as a wonderful way to support the greater South Waikato district and even beyond.

‘‘The Salvation Army’s Family Stores provide many benefits for our community such as offering people reasonably priced goods while knowing your purchase goes towards supporting vulnerable families in the community. We have set up our Tirau Family Store as a boutique Family Store. We want to fit well with the feel of a day of shopping at Tirau while still providing the bargains the public have come to expect from the Family Stores.’’

The Salvation Army Family Store Tirau is open weekdays from 10am to 4pm and Saturdays 9.30am to 4.00pm.
