All booked up for a good cause
The Salvation Army is holding a massive book sale, with all money going back into the community.
Tokoroa Salvation Army Corp Leader, Rob Raven is overwhelmed by the number of books the group has been gifted.
‘‘We have more than 50,000 books in this room. I am amazed; these books when sold will help so many families in our community.’’
There will be over 30 categories ranging from New Zealand, cooking, to do it your self.
The Sallies are also looking to exchange one child’s book for a can of food.
‘‘This will also be a way to replenish our depleting stocks in the food bank,’’ Mr Raven said.
Mr Raven wanted express the army’s sincere gratitude to those who have helped make the fair possible.
‘‘ We would like to thank Blue Pacific Minerals, Van Dyks, Walter Pelican, South Waikato News, the Tokoroa Community Probation team and the Salvation Army corp members. These wonderful businesses and individuals have helped make it possible.’’
Those wanting to help vol- unteer during the book fair can contact Rob Raven on 027 511 3195. The Salvation Army Book Fair will be held from September 15 to 17 at the old Countdown building on the corner of Logan St and Mannering St. It will open from 10am to 7pm on Thursday and Friday and to 5pm on Saturday. Eftpos will be available.
