Public urged to use school crossing

South Waikato News - - SPORT/NEWS -

Tokoroa Central School officials are asking people to use the school crossing when students are on patrol.

The call comes after Tokoroa Central School principal Tina-Maree Hooper and police education officer Constable Louise Samuel of Tokoroa monitored the crossing last week.

‘‘One of the things that is really annoying is that members of the public, who see that we are here and we are on duty, walk away (from the crossing) and cross the road,’’ Mrs Hooper said. She encouraged people to use the crossing when in the area.

Constable Samuel said it is against the law to not use the crossing.
