Student stars in science test
Tokoroa North School student Kieran Delany achieved a high distinction for the University of New South Wales science test.
The nine year old’s achievement puts him in the top one per cent of year 5 students in New Zealand.
‘‘It is really outstanding. He is an excellent student,’’ principal Stephen Blair said.
Keiran said the test comprised 40 multichoice questions.
‘‘I love science. I wish that I can do this when I get older,’’ he said. He loves science so much he is researching Ernest Rutherford. ‘‘I found it (the test) quite easy but it started to get harder and I had to use every part of my brain to do it.’’
