Clocks for­ward this week­end

Day­light sav­ing be­gins this Sun­day, 25 Septem­ber.

Clocks need to be put for­ward an hour at 2.00am to be­come 3.00am.

The ex­tra hour of day­light in the evenings will run un­til Sun­day, April 1, 2012, when clocks go back an hour at 3.00am to 2.00am.

Three Rugby World Cup matches are sched­uled for Sun­day, Septem­ber 25.

Fans plan­ning to watch the games could miss the kick-off if they for­get to ad­just their watches.

Fiji ver­sus Samoa is at 3.30pm in Auck­land, Ire­land ver­sus Rus­sia at 6.00pm in Ro­torua and Ar­gentina ver­sus Scot­land at 8.30pm in Welling­ton.

The change to day­light sav­ing is also an op­por­tune time for res­i­dents to check their house­hold emer­gency plans, sur­vival kits and home smoke alarms.
